And so this blog might seem neither here nor there, but it’s part of my all over the place life. I fly as a flight attendant. I freelance as a social media strategist. I write press releases for others sometimes. I have this book project that I am looking for an agent to represent. I have decided to ‘Throw A Trip’ to somewhere in Africa (sign up for the newsletter to help stay up-to-date). I have been wanting and working on finding sponsors for me and baby blog. And I am always in different time zones, calling multiple places home. This is life.

Added to the many things that I have found myself “everywhere” doing, is trying GNC’s Puredge product line as part of their Winter Wellness Campaign.
Being part of a sponsored marketing campaign where I get free products is great, except that I wasn’t sure what address to mail the swag to as I don’t know where I will be next. I figured it out, but I had no suitcase room when I left that California address, so I am now in Florida sans Protein, workout recovery, and pre-workout energy powders.
I was asked to created a recipe using the chocolate protein powder before I left my California home, and was pretty thrilled with how it turned out. In my parent’s mostly Vegan home, I had to improvise with ingredients, substituting Carob Powder for Cocoa Powder and replacing Canola Oil for Coconut Oil. The recipe is NOT Vegan, because unfortunately the PUREDGE Protein Powder is not Vegan, which ultimately means I probably never will actually drink it (I need to be sponsored by VEGA).
This recipe that I made though, is really good. Try it. It’s an especially good choice for the holiday baking season. Why not get some healthy protein hidden in the sweet treats you are making already?
Molten Chocolate Lava Cake Recipe
- 1 1/2 scoops Chocolate Flavored GNC PUREDGE Protein Powder
- 1/4 C Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 Tablespoon Carob Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Almond Butter
- 3 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
- 1/2 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate or Dark Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 Cup Agave
- 1/3 Cup egg whites or 2 eggs
Directions: Pre-Heat Oven to 425 degrees. Combine almond butter, coconut oil, and chocolate chips. Microwave for one minute or until melted. Combine all dry ingredients in separate bowl. Mix eggs and agave into melted chocolate mixture. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Bake for 15 minutes. Enjoy with Light Whipped Topping, Greek Yogurt, or Low-Fat Ice Cream. Makes approximately four individual servings.
Just because I am (mostly) vegan doesn’t mean that I believe that the only healthy lifestyle is one without meats, dairy, and cheese. My mama taught me everything in moderation and to live a balanced life. If I wasn’t vegan, I would be all about GNC Puredge products.
Now, I think I need to go listen to her and find that balance…
(GNC also makes PUREDGE protein bars that are great for travel. They just don’t taste very good to me. I think the best option would be to make your own with the PUREDGE protein powder).
